Five times and going! OCU professor once again world champion in Diagnostic Imaging

Associate professor Taro Shimono of the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, has been honored the winner of the Diagnosis Please contest, with the highest number of correct diagnoses for 2020. The competition, which decides the world’s best diagnostic imaging, was established by one of the most prestigious journals in the field of radioscopy, Radiology, published by Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

This is Associate Professor Shimano’s fifth time winning the award. As the first doctor in Asia, he has won the competition in 2005, 2009, 2014 and 2017. Furthermore, Associate Professor Shimano has won for the 20th time a similar contest in Japan, Image – Interpretation – Session, held by the Japan Radiological Society Assembly.
